NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school. 

 

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens at 8 a.m. on February 2.

COGITO PROGRAM

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school. Pre-enrolment for all students begins February 2nd and closes March 25, 2026 at 4 pm. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment.

 

Following the close of pre-enrolment at 4 p.m. on March 25, should there be more Cogito applications than there is space, the school will follow a random selection process and families will be notified by April 17.

 

Foundational Principles for the Cogito Program

 

COGITO KINDERGARTEN 'MEETINGS FOR SUCCESS'

All Kindergarten applicants registering for the Cogito Program are to participate in a 'Meeting for Success'. This is an opportunity for prospective students to engage in age-appropriate tasks presented in a classroom setting while being observed by teachers.

 

School Administration will use the evidence and observations collected during the ‘Meeting for Success’ to engage parents in a conversation about the child’s readiness for the demands and expectations of the program. These meetings are an important way to connect with families of potential students and are beneficial to ensure the child can be successful in the Cogito program. Once your child has pre-enrolled at Northmount we will contact you to schedule a Kindergarten ‘Meeting for Success’.

 

SCHOOL TOUR

We will not be holding an open house this year, please contact us if you are interested in a school tour. This is an opportunity to see learning spaces in the school and ask questions. Call us 780-475-5162 or email us northmount@epsb.ca

 

Waitlist for the Cogito Program 2026-2027

We will be maintaining a waitlist for the Cogito Program. This means that if space becomes available after the close of pre-enolrolment on March 25, 2026, we will contact families on the list. The list will be maintained until Sept 29, 2026 after this date any vacant spaces will remain unfilled.

There is no waitlist for our regular program, during pre-enrolment we will only accept students in our regular program that live in our attendance area or students with siblings who are currently attending Northmount.
